Data Protection
Privacy Policy
How Videa processes purchase, licensing, support, and activation data.
This Privacy Policy explains how Videa processes personal data in connection with Videafactory, the Videa website, license activation, support, and product purchases. It is drafted with reference to GDPR transparency principles, including the need to explain what data is collected, why, how long it is kept, and what rights individuals have.
1. Controller
Videa is the controller for personal data processed through its website, license system, and support channels. Contact: support@videa.tech.
2. Data We Process
Depending on how you interact with Videafactory, we may process: name, email address, order identifiers, product purchased, license key, license status, activation count, machine identifier generated by the plugin, application version, activation timestamps, support messages, and technical logs needed for security and troubleshooting.
3. Payment Data
Payments are processed by third-party platforms such as Lemon Squeezy or Gumroad. Videa does not store full payment card numbers. Payment providers may process billing, tax, fraud prevention, invoice, and receipt data under their own terms and privacy policies.
4. Purposes and Legal Bases
We process data to deliver downloads and license keys, activate and validate licenses, prevent abuse, provide support, maintain security, comply with tax/accounting/legal obligations, and improve the product. Legal bases may include contract performance, legitimate interests, consent where required, and legal obligations.
5. License Activation Data
When Videafactory activates or validates a license, the plugin may send the license key, machine identifier, and app version to Videa's license API. This is necessary to confirm entitlement, enforce activation limits, detect misuse, and keep the product operational.
6. Cookies and Analytics
The current static Videa website does not require account cookies. If analytics, checkout embeds, advertising pixels, or customer login features are added later, this policy should be updated and cookie consent should be configured where required.
7. Processors and Recipients
Data may be processed by infrastructure and service providers used to operate Videafactory, including hosting, database, email delivery, payment, checkout, and support providers. These providers may include Render, Supabase, Hostinger email, Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad, Cloudflare, and similar operational services.
8. International Transfers
Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where GDPR applies, transfers should rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or equivalent legal mechanisms provided by the relevant service provider.
9. Retention
License and order records are retained for as long as needed to provide the purchased lifetime license, comply with legal/accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud. Support communications and security logs are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for their purpose.
10. Your Rights
Where GDPR or similar laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, receive a copy of your data, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Some data may need to be retained where legally required or necessary to provide the license.
11. Security
Videa uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect license and customer data. No internet service can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we aim to limit access, keep secrets out of client-side code, and use secure hosted infrastructure.
12. Children's Data
Videafactory is intended for professional and creator workflows and is not directed to children.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
